Friends of the BVRP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to raise funds and awareness for all future outdoor recreation projects, improvements, and maintenance involving or benefiting the Buena Vista Whitewater Park.
The BV Whitewater Park is located in downtown Buena Vista, where the Arkansas River flows through town. Our park contains five manmade play features which allow a variety of user groups to easily access and enjoy the river.

Our aim is to ease any financial barriers hindering the realization of future River Park projects. Rather than playing catch-up each time a new project is approved, our goal is to have consistent and sustainable fundraising efforts in place, to ensure financial support for ongoing and upcoming initiatives.
Construction of Pocket Wave 2.0 is currently scheduled for August of 2024. Check out our Project Updates page for more information pertaining to all current and future projects.
Our next goal is to assist in funding a new Whitewater Park Master Plan for the Town of Buena Vista. A new Master Plan will help establish the framework for all future improvements and upkeep to the Whitewater Park.
