Dear Buena Vista River Community,
We want to keep you informed about an important update regarding the planned maintenance of Pocket Wave
2.0 at the Buena Vista River Park.
Originally scheduled for 2024, this project has been rescheduled for August 2025 to ensure the best possible outcome for our community and river users. The Town of Buena Vista and our engineers have refined the design to better align with community feedback and to enhance the experience for all user groups.
Construction is now set to begin in mid-August 2025, with an expected completion by early October. We anticipate work will begin in the river as soon as water levels allow, around August 19th, and will share a finalized schedule once details are confirmed.
We remain fully committed to completing this top-priority capital project for the Town of Buena Vista. All
donations received over the past three years are securely held in the Town’s Capital Improvement Account and
will be used exclusively for the Pocket Wave 2.0 project.
Due to design changes, additional engineering, and increased construction cost, the community continues to raise funds and awareness for this project. Please consider supporting this effort and donating at BVRP.org or on gofundme.com.
